POSIDONIA 2010

The third edition of POSIDONIA FESTIVAL art i natura, International Festival of Art, Environment and Sustainable Development, will take place in Sant Francesc de Formentera from the 1st to the 3rd of October 2010, in the area of Jardí de  Ses Eres.

The Posidonia oceanica , an underwater plant that contributes to the maintenance of the Mediterranean ecosystem, is the flag and symbol of this festival which aims to spread a culture of respect and conservation of nature.

The POSIDONIA FESTIVAL 2010 changes the spring for the autumn, from May to October. Posidonia Festival celebrates this year, declared International Year of Biodiversity by the United Nations, with many different artistic and cultural activities on ecology issues directly related to the Mediterranean as well as the Ecoferia, the documentaries and the workshops as in previous editions. Acoustic musical concerts are confirmed, and all the festival activities are still free.

In order to ensure that the development of the annual festival will follow in a fully sustainable way for the island of Formentera, for this year's event Posidonia Project Association and the Consell de Formentera have decided not to offer the main musical stage, where used to take place the most massive musical concerts. The festival organization, with the objective to continue with the message related to environmental issues that the music can spread to the people, also promotes a new musical initiative out of Formentera before the Posidonia Festival: POSIDONIA Off 2010 .
